          Engagement International ApS is a Copenhagen based responsible investment service provider, focusing on collaborative engagement and strategic advisory. We support banks, pension funds and other institutional investors to encourage companies they invest in to become more responsible in managing their most material environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) issues. We do this by engagement dialogues, meetings with the companies worldwide and through proxy voting at their general assemblies on behalf of our institutional investor clients. We believe this kind of active and responsible ownership creates long-term financial value and licence to operate from stakeholders and the general public.

We support institutional investor clients to formulate and implement a formal policy on engagement and responsible investment based on their investment beliefs and global norms and guidelines expressed by UN Global Compact, PRI and the Paris Climate Agreement

How you include ESG/RI factors

We engage, on behalf of our institutional investor clients, with listed global companies in their portfolios that can be associated to violations of international norms and guidelines (typically UN Global Compact) and/or a high ESG Risk Exposure. Through two annual meetings (face to face or conference calls) we encourage them to manage their most material ESG issues in a responsible and sustainable way.

On behalf of our institutional investor clients, we engage with the 100 listed companies that are contributing mostly to climate change in terms of the highest potential future carbon emissions from fossil fuel reserves, the highest current carbon footprints scope 1 and 2 and and the highest carbon intensity per US dollar sold, according to MSCI ESG Research.
