ESG topics are fully integrated in the DD process. An ESG due diligence is systematically carried out in the DD process to identify risks and opportunities. External consultants are appointed for the DD. Thus, ESG risk as well as opportunities for value creation are part of the investment decision. There is an ESG section in the investment recommendation document where the deal team must specifically address ESG topics. Consequently, ESG is considered in our investment process (there have been instances where an ESG issue has led to a decline of an investment proposal). Any material findings are being followed up and are part of the 100 day plan.
ESG is documented in the due diligence reports performed by external consultants and covered in the investment recommendation.
ESG-related considerations largely derive from the ESG Due Diligence (systematically carried out during DD process) and the Legal DD (e.g. considerations of governance related aspects).
Outcome of DD forms input into (a) IC documentations, (b) action plan (e.g. 100 day plan) and (c) value creation plan.
