Monash aims to actively incorporate environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles into its investment approach. The Investment Advisory Committee via its investment advisor and investment managers will actively engage on ESG issues to influence corporate behaviour where possible.
Strategy
The Long Term Investment Pool is viewed as an investment in perpetuity, aiming to maintain and grow its capital base to provide a source of funding for University expenditure into the future. The investment objective is to maximise the rate of return over a relatively long time horizon within an acceptable level of risk (including currency risk, credit risk, third party, ESG and sovereign risks). IAC considerations also include the tax exempt status of the University.
