New managers’ approach to ESG is covered by due diligence conducted prior to investment in new funds. This is followed up with regular discussions and requests for evidence of actions taken in light of their stated policies. For example, for our property managers, this would include purchasing ‘green’ buildings, refurbishing and upgrading existing properties, and implementing, where tenants permit, ‘green’ leases. ESG activity is monitored on an ongoing basis and incorporated into regular performance reviews for each fund. Managers' RI/ESG policies and PRI Assessment Reports are requested and reviewed. N.B. we still have legacy managers who were appointed prior to implementation of our policies.
