SG 07. RI roles and responsibilities

07.2. For the roles for which you have RI oversight/accountability or implementation responsibilities, indicate how you execute these responsibilities.

The Investment Committee is responsible for ensuring ESG considerations are included as part of the investment decision making progress. In turn, the Portfolio managers ensure that ESG is considered and thorough ESG due diligence is included as part of the decision making progress. This includes the use of external ESG experts during investment appraisal process. Following on from this, the Portfolio managers ensure ESG issues and initiatives are included in the 100 day plan and ESG is actively managed in each company on an ongoing basis with value creation opportunities identified and pursued, and any concerns regarding ESG matters being brought to the attention of the board. Senior management of each portfolio company are responsible for promoting ESG awareness and training within and across the portfolio company.

Whilst we do not have dedicated responsible investment staff, all team members are deeply aware of the firm's positive stance on ESG matters and, in effect, behave as responsible investment officers for all activities in which they are involved. This way, ESG considerations are built into all decision making rather than being a separate imposed function.
