Overview

INF 11. ESG issues in post-investment activities

11.1. Indicate whether your organisation and/or operators consider ESG issues in post-investment activities relating to your infrastructure assets.

Our organisation considers ESG issues in the board papers and asset level reports provided to our internal team. Some examples include work health and safety reporting, environmental impacts (and plans to mitigate these impacts) from construction or maintenance work and asset level initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. 

Issues are raised as 'red flags' in our quarterly reports to internal stakeholders where they are deemed material and relevant by our team.

Our nominee directors sit on the board of companies and consider ESG issues in board reports and via discussion with management. From time to time, we would raise specific issues with the board or with our investee companies for particular focus. Recent examples include looking at ways to improve the working conditions for contractors and subcontractors in order to improve workplace safety metrics.

Environmental and site selection requirements, biodiversity requirements, waste management and community consultation are undertaken by our portfolio companies when major repairs, rehabilitation, renewals or upgrades are undertaken. All projects are expected to be in full compliance with their regulatory approvals, permits and licences and to report any breaches immediately.
