The Pollen Street ESG policy and approach spans all the asset classes we manage, however, our ability to implement our approach varies across out two main strategies. Our private equity investment activity allows us to embed our ESG principles within the portfolio companies acquired by our managed funds over the lifetime of our investment. This allows ESG to be a part of their growth journey. Our other primary activity involves investing in credit assets linked to the specialty finance space. While this provides us with an opportunity to communicate best practices and principles with our counterparties, as our funds do not ‘own’ these counterparties, the ability to directly embed ESG is more limited.
