Länsförsäkringar AB and its subsidiaries are owned by the 23 local and customer-owned regional insurance companies. Together, they form the Länsförsäkringar Alliance. For the regional insurance companies, Länsförsäkringar AB is the partner that supports them in realising the customer promise and delivering the offering expected by customers. Its mission is to conduct joint banking and insurance operations, manage strategic development activities for the Alliance and provide service in areas that generate economies of scale and efficiency. Länsförsäkringar offers life, non-life insurance and pension solutions to corporate customers and private individuals. The business conducted by Länsförsäkringar AB’s non-life insurance group primarily comprises health, pet and crop insurance, and some cargo, liability, property and motor insurance. The Länsförsäkringar AB Group also manages the Länsförsäkringar Alliance’s reinsurance cover and assumed international reinsurance. 

In relation to Länsförsäkringar AB, the Group includes Länsförsäkringar Sak, Länsförsäkringar Bank (inlcuding our mutual fund company), Länsförsäkringar Fondliv and the subsidiaries of these companies. Länsförsäkringar Liv is operated according to mutual principles and is not consolidated in Länsförsäkringar AB. In this PRI report, Länsförsäkringar AB and its subsidiaries are referred to as “Länsförsäkringar AB.”

Within Länsförsäkringar AB, the asset management department manages institutional portfolios with assets from life, non-life and guarantee solutions. Our mutual fund company, part of Länsförsäkringar Banks, manages Länsförsäkringar's mutual funds.

We can help reduce sustainability risks and also contribute to the positive development of society and create business value by incorporating sustainability into all parts of our business. In 2018, Länsförsäkringar was named Sweden’s most sustainable insurance company by Sustainable Brand Index according to both retail and corporate customers. Länsförsäkringar also came first in the Swedish Sustainability Ranking in the Banking and Finance category.

Approximately 58% of the AUM is managed by Länsförsäkringar AB’s mutual fund company, and the remaing share of assets belong to Asset Management.

Asset management manages institutional portfolios on behalf of Länsförsäkringar Liv, Länsförsäkringar Sak, Agria, Gruppliv, Länsförsäkringar Fondliv, and Länsförsäkringar AB. The mutual fund company manages Länförsäkringar AB's own mutual funds, both in listed equities and fixed income.  

A majority of Länsförsäkringar AB's total AUM are managed by different external investment mangers.
