Describe your organisation`s approach to incorporating ESG issues in infrastructure investment selection.
Statewide Super has held equity stakes in two infrastructure companies for many years. Both provide essential transportation services in South Australia. The ESG issues that we have engaged with them on to date have largely been based on governance and some high-level operational issues. This year, Statewide Super initiated an ESG questionnaire to the companies covering a comprehensive range of matters. ESG matters inevitably also come up at the Board table but are not specifically monitored by the Investment Team as the Board placement by Statewide is considered to be non-represenatative.
