We have worked on developing with CII a panel discussion on ESG and Innovation.

David Silverman, a former Blue Harbur employee (who was an employee during the reporting period) was a member of the ICGN Board Governance Committee. He has worked on creating several different viewpoints for the organization, including being the lead author on a current project about ESG and Innovation.

We have been active participants in both SASB and the Thirty Percent Coalition.  We have carefully tracked the development of the SASB standards and offered feedback on how to promote SASB.  We have engaged our portfolio companies on the topic of standards based sustainability reporting.  We have also spoken with our portfolio companies about adding gender diversity to their boards, including both formal mechanisms like a "Rooney rule," and director suggestion of female candidates.

Description

          We have worked with several clients and consultants on helping them to understand RI investment approaches, in particular around engagement.  These are often one on one but can also be in educational forums intended for managers, consultants, or asset owners.

          We have discussed ESG and Responsible Investment in many forums, including Ira Sohn conference, Society for Corporate Governance, Active-Passive Investor Summit and Investment bank sponsored panels.

We engage directly with our portfolio companies on these issues including at the board level.  We have communicated with C level executives on the importance of ESG reporting and made recommendations on specific actions.
