In terms of responsible investment, we have adopted an investment policy which is consistent with Sophia University's educational Ideals (which is; as a higher education institution following the principle of Christian spirit, to educate students in advanced academic research and develop "Men and Women for Others, with Others" who have high morals and are capable of independent thought through the education of all as well as to contribute to solving problems such as poverty, environment, education and ethics which threaten "human dignity" by contributing to academic research and society). We also aim to practice the principles of the United Nations Global Compact of which we are a member.
ESG factors are important future financial factors which impact future risks and the medium to long-term value of investments and as such we think it is crucial to consider ESG factors particularly for medium to long-term investors who invest in pension funds and university endowments.
