01.4. Describe your organisation’s investment principles and overall investment strategy, interpretation of fiduciary (or equivalent) duties, and how they consider ESG factors and real economy impact.

Lighthouse Infrastructure is a socially responsible infrastructure investment firm.  Our investment belief is that socially responsible investments will deliver superior risk adjusted returns to investors over the long term.

We use a positive screening process to identify our investments.  We specifically target investments which assist in meeting the objectives of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

We believe that these assets will deliver superior returns for three key reasons:

  • Assets which are well aligned to society’s social objectives are less likely to be the subject of adverse regulatory outcomes
  • This regulatory risk factor and potential volatility is not built into valuation inputs and therefore mispriced currently
  • Greater demand for these types of assets over the longer term will drive valuations higher

01.5. Provide a brief description of the key elements, any variations or exceptions to your investment policy that covers your responsible investment approach. [Optional]

Lighthouse Infrastructure is an independent and 100% employee owned fund manager.  Lighthouse's conflicts of interest policy is consistent with the guidance provided by ASIC in Regulatory Guide 181: Licensing: Managing conflicts of interest.

Consistent with RG 181, Lighthouse uses the following three mechanisms to management conflicts of interest:

- controlling conflicts of interest

- avoiding conflicts of interest; and

- disclosing conflicts of interest.

In addition, each of Lighthouse's managed funds have an investor representative committee (comprising unitholder representatives) and one its roles (among other roles) is to consider and make recommendations relating to investments that involve conflicts of interest.
