Describe what processes are in place and the outputs or outcomes achieved

Fixed income - SSA

We invest a very small amount of our AUM (much less than 1%) in external Fixed Income pooled funds.

For the sovereign bond element of these funds, we have no particular ESG review process in place - these funds are invested solely in eurozone sovereign government bonds.  However, we do engage directly with governments on RI issues.

Fixed income - Corporate (financial)

We invest a very small amount of our AUM (much less than 1%) in external Fixed Income pooled funds.

For the corporate bond element of these funds, we have engaged with the external fund manager with regard to RI issues in general, including specific criticism of, and requests for improvements in, their proxy voting activities and the disclosure of RI information in general.  This engagement has been successful in that that provider has significantly improved its RI processes.

Property

We have a small amount (c 0.2% of AUM) invested in two external property pooled funds, and we monitor those funds' commitment to sustainability as part of our ongoing due diligence process.  Both funds have responsible investment in property statements and good sustainability practices.
