ESG issues in asset allocation

SG 13. ESG issues in strategic asset allocation

13.1. Indicate whether the organisation carries out scenario analysis and/or modelling, and if it does, provide a description of the scenario analysis (by asset class, sector, strategic asset allocation, etc.).

Describe We conduct indirect scenario analyses. We use standardised (e.g. SASB, MSCI) and proprietary frameworks to determine material ESG themes/issues relevant to a portfolio company and its industry. Using sources (e.g. WBCSD) we research ESG trends that might affect these issues, and strategically assess our company’s management of such trends.
Describe We conduct indirect scenario analyses using established research outlets (e.g. IEA, BP energy outlook) and tools (e.g. easyXDI) to determine future climate risks and opportunities. We consult our companies on their awareness and management of future risks and facilitate strategic exploration of future opportunities, especially within energy and marine industries.

Our consideration of ESG factors are limited to the private equity sector. We consider ESG factors that have been identified as material to a company’s operating industry and target market. Additionally, we remain informed of ESG-related regulation and legislation specific to the geographical regions in which our companies operate (e.g. country specific climate-related goals).
