Brief description and measures of investment

Boulos: a tissue paper manufacturer using recycled paper and wood products. Boulos rapidly managed to dominate the Nigerian market, being a fully integrated company and presenting a unique production capacity in Nigeria and the region in a rapidly growing market. The Group constitutes a unique industrial asset in the region, with the few competitors being located only in North Africa, Egypt, Kenya and South Africa. Hence, it is the only asset of this kind in term of capacity, quality, technology, sophistication and Human Ressources in West Africa.
The group intends to diversify its local product range towards hygiene products such as diapers and sanitary napkins

The two companies of the paper business are:

•Bel Papyrus Limited (BPL) a waste paper recycling facility and manufacturing of tissue paper jumbo rolls which currently operates three paper.

•Bel Impex Limited (BIL) produces retail paper finished products, including toilet paper (the main product with 88%), napkins, kitchen towel rolls, pocket handkerchief and facial tissues

Fidelity Bank Ghana:

Amongst its products and services, Fidelity bank provides.The goal of Fidelity Financial Inclusion’s unit is to become the banker of choice for financial intermediaries that serve the mass market. Key amongst its clients are MFIs, Credit Unions, Susu Collectors and Money Lenders. Fidelity offers a unique hybrid deposit account called Agyapadie Business Account and a robust loan product called Semi-Secured Loan.

Fidelity Bank (equity):

The Bank of Ghana has recently approved the acquisition of ProCredit Ghana by Fidelity Bank.  Fidelity bank benefits from strong SME processes and qualified staff to enhance the Bank’s services to Ghanaian businesses. The acquisition consolidates the Bank’s position as the 6th largest in terms of deposits. It also makes Fidelity Bank the 3rd largest bank in terms of branch network with 80 branches, 300 agencies and over 100 ATMs. This strategy has a high social impact in a country where banking penetration rates are below 30%.
