02.2. Describe how your organisation outlines expectations on staff and portfolio companies’ approach towards ESG issues in investment activities.

IFU’s investment process has been designed in such a way that investments are assessed and approved according to a gradually increased engagement level passing several approval stages. At each stage, ESG aspects will be investigated and findings integrated in IFU’s decision papers at “Clearance in Principle”, Binding Commitment” and “Shareholder Agreement” level. This includes assessing - done by ESG staff  - the extent to which relevant international sustainability standards are met by the potential portfolio company. The standards will include the IFC Performance Standards and the related IFC/World Bank Group Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Guidelines or other relevant and credible, globally or regionally recognised standards that encourage continuous improvements.
