Bpifrance Investissement's funds tend to focus on specific segments where market deficiencies are noted ( for example sectors on which no dedicated funds exist). In that case, Bpifrance Investissement creates
and manages funds depending on the nature of identified needs of financing, preferably in co-investment with private investors, like current funds Innobio (biotech and medtech), Patrimoine et Creation, or Bois (wood)

It also aims to complete, like the current one Direct Co-Investment Fund (FCID), investments made by patrner funds when the risk level is too high for them (taking into account the size of the amounts or the nature of investment).

Bpifrance Investissement systematically seeks co-investors private companies to which it leaves the majority of the shares, in order to stimulate the investment market.

Co-investment is systematically sought in order to avoid any form of competition with private market funds and conflicts of interest between activities direct investment and investment via partner funds , in particular regional funds.
