For a small and relatively new organisation, we have contributed to PRI in the following manner:

  • During 2018 and 2019, Mr Munier Badat served on the PRI Fixed Income Advisory Committee
  • Since December 2019, Mr Hemal Naran serves on the PRI Infrastructure Advisory Committee. 

During the PRI assessment year, Mr Hemal Naran has promoted PRI across other Sub-Saharan markets with asset owners (circa 40 pension funds from Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda and Zambia).  He used this opportunity to present material on PRI and the merits of becoming a signatory.  This material was provided by Ms Nicole Martens (PRI Head: Africa and Middle East).

Mr Hemal Naran serves on the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) ESG Integration and Stewardship Committee.

Mr Hemal Naran has been appointed as Co-head of CAIA Association's South African Chapter.  This Chapter will play a role in promoting and educating across alternative asset classes, including integration of responsible investment practices across private equity, private debt, infrastructure, hedge funds and commodity investing.

Description

          Our team members have presented at industry conferences to promote responsible investment.  The audience for these conference included pension funds, insurance companies, regulators and consulting firms.  These conference were held in Livingstone, Zambia and Mombasa, Kenya.

Description

          We have produced and published in-house research papers on responsible investment.  Topics include: ESG in Africa, Infrastructure as a developmental asset class, Benefits of farmland investing, Food security and farmland investing.

Description

          We have worked with over 40 pension funds in Sub-Saharan Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Zambia) and promoted PRI and the benefits of becoming a signatory to them.  We presented material on PRI provided by Ms Nicole Martens (PRI Head: Africa and Middle East).
