RI begins with a top management commitment to the importance of the ESG factors. This message, as supported by our RI policy, is communicated to the team clearly. Team members are provided with ESG training, and the investment activity incorporates ESG related elements at all stages. We also have a group dedicated to furthering ESG matters in the GP and the portfolio. This team, in conjunction with the investment team, implements annual ESG portfolio questionnaire which is then used by Stirling Square to frame/guide/agree company-specific ESG initiatives for the year ahead. The investment team members are overseeing specific ESG initiatives via the company's board participation. The ESG group also follows the implementation progress of ESG matters and supports the investment team in any situations requiring a more active approach.
Furthermore, we are looking for ways of deeper incorporation of the ESG matters in our investment activity. For example, we are examining how to adopt UN SDGs as a conceptual framework that could drive all of our investments. The establishment of such systematic frameworks should further help to root ESG matters as a key dimension in our investment activity in the minds of all team members.
