The Plan sponsor of the CEPP is the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) and is Canada’s largest union, with over 650,000 members across the country. CUPE proudly defends public and green energy production, water protection, sound water management and the implementation of measures to green our workplaces and believes that Unions must be part of the solution and provide a just transition to a greener and cleaner economy for the good of the planet, individuals and communities. Guides have been developed for CUPE members on what they can do at work and in their communities to tackle some of the pressing environmental problems we face. CUPE is much involved in taking strong steps and calling for action on the environmental crisis and has adopted a national environmental policy and environmental newsletter for its members.
