Infrastructure Maintenance

INF 15. Proportion of maintenance projects where ESG issues were considered

15.1. Indicate the proportion of active infrastructure maintenance projects where ESG issues have been considered.

(in terms of number of active maintenance projects)

15.2. Describe your approach to ESG considerations for infrastructure maintenance projects. [Optional]

Our Private Infrastructure Asset Management (PrIAM) team is responsible for devising practical ways to systematically identify and improve performance on material ESG factors for each of their assets. During infrastructure maintenance, PrIAM works closely with respective infrastructure operators on the ground on aspects of the maintenance of our infrastructure assets, including ESG considerations. The operators we work with are typically experienced, well-established players in the field who have long-standing policies on environmental impact, community engagement, labor standards, bribery and corruption, etc. While maintaining an asset, there are typically also ongoing ESG initiatives, such as health & safety reviews. Negative incidents are reported back to PG according to the same incident reporting guidelines for all of our assets.

Starting in 2019, we also require that ESG considerations are included in all third-party operator contract, to ensure that any operators we work with on maintenance projects maintain a certain standard of ESG performance.
