07.2. For the roles for which you have RI oversight/accountability or implementation responsibilities, indicate how you execute these responsibilities.

  • BTNZ aims to have all investment team members involved and accountable for implementation of responsible investment.
  • The BTNZ Investment Committee and the BTNZ Board approve the RI policy, while the relevant portfolio managers and analysts are responsible for ensuring their asset classes are managed and implemented consistent with the RI policy.
  • BTNZ has also contracted a third party service provider (Sustainalytics) to assist with preparing the securities exclusions list (based on BTNZ's framework), as well as provide carbon risk rating reports, ESG risk rating reports, company ESG reports and research on responsible investing trends.
  • In addition, BTNZ's parent WNZL, has a dedicated Sustainability team that conducts work on sustainability themes impacting the communities we operate within, providing an additional source of support for BTNZ.
