SG 07. RI roles and responsibilities

07.1. Indicate the internal and/or external roles used by your organisation, and indicate for each whether they have oversight and/or implementation responsibilities for responsible investment.

07.2. For the roles for which you have RI oversight/accountability or implementation responsibilities, indicate how you execute these responsibilities.

The Ethical Investment Policy, Voting register and Engagement activity are formally reviewed quarterly at the U Ethical Investment Committee. Any proposed changes to the approach to voting or Ethical Investment Policy are subject to approval at this level. 

Board members are also represented on the Ethical Advisory Panel, held quarterly.

The Chief Investment Officer is responsible for ensuring that Responsible Investment practices are implemented by the Investment team, this includes ESG incorporation in to company analysis, voting and engagement on ESG issues, negative and positive screening. 

The Ethics & Impact Manager works closely with the investment team to provide qualitative assessment over and above the quantitative screening process afforded by MSCI ESG screens.

Executive Management work directly with company management, often engaging on ethical and ESG matters
