Due to internal staff and budgetary constraints, and the limitations associated with being a body politic entity, Treasury does not undertake direct company engagement activity. Company engagement activities are undertaken by external service providers including by the fund managers, the global proxy voting advisor and the listed company ESG research service provider, which provides in-depth research, ratings and analysis of the environmental, social and governance-related business practices of thousands of listed companies worldwide.

Engagement activities by the fund managers includes corporates, governments and non-government organisations across a broad range of ESG issues and risks including social themes of human rights, modern slavery, diversity, community relations, and animal welfare, environmental themes of climate change (risks and opportunities), sustainability and environmental risk management, as well as governance themes including disclosure improvements, culture, bribery and corruption, cyber security and data privacy.
