Epoch has two investment professionals solely dedicated to the ongoing implementation of Epoch's ESG program.
Richard Watt, Managing Director, Head of Sustainable Investment, began his career in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1982. He holds an MA Joint Honors Degree in History and Politics from the University of Edinburgh. In 2017 he received a Certificate in Sustainable Investing Leadership from the University of Cambridge, and in 2019 a Certificate in Climate Science and Policy from the University of Queensland. Richard was appointed Head of Sustainable Investment at Epoch in 2019. Prior to joining Epoch in 2007, he was an Executive Vice President of U.K.-based Schroders Investment Management, and Head of Emerging Markets at Credit Suisse Asset Management. Richard also held positions as a portfolio manager with Gartmore and Kleinwort Benson in London.
Ravi Varghese, Vice President, ESG Analyst, joined Epoch in 2019 as an ESG analyst, focusing on ESG research across the firm. Prior to joining Epoch, he completed an MSc in Climate Change and Finance from Imperial College London and worked at Ceres, a sustainability organization in Boston. He also has investment experience spanning multiple asset classes at HighVista Strategies, long/short equities work at Arbiter Partners and global macro investing at Protégé Partners. Ravi earned a B.A. in Sociology with Economics from Yale University and a Masters in Finance from London Business School.
