          The BTIS Investment team monitor investment managers on ESG integration on a regular basis, along with ad hoc engagement where there is a material ESG risk, such as a controversy in a security held in the portfolio.

On an annual basis, the BTIS Investment team undertake a review of our managers' sustainable investment processes, including any developments or improvements, examples of ESG integration, engagement and proxy voting, and management of climate risk. The BTIS Investment team also review sustainable investment disclosure and reporting provided by the manager over the past 12 months, including proxy voting records, ESG reporting, and climate-related reporting.

The engagement figure above incorporates engagement undertaken by our equities investment managers. To avoid double-counting, we have calculated the number of companies based on the individual company names to address instances where some companies may have been engaged by both an engagement service provider and an investment manager.
