Niederösterreichische Vorsorgekasse AG acts upon economic, ecological and social principles. We rely on a detailed sustainability concept which build the framework for our investment decisions. We have defined exclusion criteria as well as positive criteria for our investment process. The sustainability concept is used for the whole portfolio. We stand for good performance with sustainable investments. We are convinced that the incorporation of sustainable aspects minimizes the risks and bring long-term returns. Our target is a completely sustainable portfolio as defined by our sustainability concept. Since 2016 this target has been reached. 

We have also founded a sustainability committee with 10 experts, which gives us support in sustainability matters.

Key elements are our defined exclusion criteria as well as positive criteria. Based on the list of criteria we ensure a fundamental sustainability performance. We do not invest in companies that act in defined industries. The list includes for example: nuclear power, violation of human rights, violation of employment law, pornography, violation of environmental law, coal and coal production, oil sands, fracking.

Furthermore, we have exclusion criteria for countries as well for example violation of human rights, child labour, death penalty, money laundering, violation of democracy, climate protection.

Our target are investments in companies and states that meet the list of positive criteria.

In both cases we work together with an independant, external rating agency.
