01.4. Describe your organisation’s investment principles and overall investment strategy, interpretation of fiduciary (or equivalent) duties,and how they consider ESG factors and real economy impact.

Atomico invests in companies based on the following criteria:

  1. Geography: Developed markets of Europe, and opportunistically in North America.
  2. Stage: The core focus of investments is Series A and Series B. In addition, Atomico will seek to make later stage venture (Series C+) opportunities where Atomico can utilise our proprietary access and insights, and where there is still significant upside potential.
  3. Sector: We invest across the technology industry.
  4. Strong Founders with a Clear Mission
  5. Potential Category Leaders: Atomico will seek to invest in companies with sustainable business models, long term vision, and the potential to become leaders in a category with defensible competitive advantages. 
  6. Companies with Responsible Principles: Atomico seeks to make investments in companies that have a neutral or positive impact on the environment, society and planet. Atomico also seeks to back founders and companies that embody ethical principles, sustainable and responsible growth, and that embrace diversity.

Atomico has also established a “Values Scorecard” that is integrated into the investment review process as part of our due diligence process. The Values scorecard seeks to review and analyse ESG-related factors for prospective investments.

ATOMICO’s RI approach is based on the following principles:

·       Respect for the internationally proclaimed human rights principles;

·       Equal opportunity independent of gender or race;

·       Working conditions which health and safety standards;

·       Promotion of environmental responsibility; and

·       Implementation of anti-corruption guidelines.
