In August 2017, a consortium led by Macquarie Group Limited (Macquarie), acquired the UK Green Investment Bank (GIB). Since acquisition, GIB now trades as Green Investment Group (GIG). Whilst the GIG brand now operates globally, the UK Green Investment Bank Limited (the signatory to the PRI) is represented by GIG staff in Europe only.

GIG does not have subsidiaries that are signatories of PRI in their own right. However, Macquarie Asset Management (MAM) is one of Macquarie Group's four operating businesses and is also a signatory to the PRI. MAM became a signatory to the PRI in 2015 and reports separately to PRI as an asset manager.
