SG 07. RI roles and responsibilities

07.1. Indicate the internal and/or external roles used by your organisation, and indicate for each whether they have oversight and/or implementation responsibilities for responsible investment.


07.2. For the roles for which you have RI oversight/accountability or implementation responsibilities, indicate how you execute these responsibilities.

One or two Trustees attend TUSO meeting by rotation.  Responsible investment ideas are discussed within TUSO and proposals are taken to the Trustees’ Investment Committee (which meets quarterly) where appropriate. Responsible Investment decisions are taken to the full Trustee Board for ratification. 

With effect from the begining of 2020, PIRC have been apolonted to support the Trustees' SRI work.  Their 2020 workplan for the Scheme is as follows:

•PIRC will focus engagement on labour issues and major holdings
•PIRC will bring forward opportunities for the Scheme to support and participate in collaborative engagements
•PIRC will encourage close working with similarly-minded investors
•PIRC will liaise with investors groups with a labour focus – Committee on Workers’ Capital, Workforce Disclosure Initiative, CICTAR
•PIRC will facilitate attendance at AGMs that are of interest
•PIRC will provide regular updates and reports to the Trustees
