We became a signatory to the UNPRI in May 2015 and are completing our fourth assessment at this time.

Our CCO is the President of AII, and has led a collaborative initiative with eVestment to help standarize and increase the robustness of ESG questionnaires.

We have participated in the Securitized Finance Association task force on ESG, including a December NYC conference.

We participated in a group session of the FCLT in 2019.

SG 10. Promoting RI independently

          Clients: We presented in a number of informal educational opportunities for our clients over the year, particularly those that have an interest in understanding how Loomis can meet their investment needs with ESG.  They understood that we are incorporating ESG within our investment processes but want to understand how they might create or enhance their product through the lens of their ESG values.

Investment consultants:  We met with a large number of consultants over the course of 2019 to share our ESG efforts and activities across our firm and within our investment teams.

Broker/dealers:  We met with many of the brokers (as well as credit ratings agencies) to discuss our efforts and activities involving ESG integration and engagement, to learn about their products and services,  and to provide feedback where requested.

          We have encouraged other asset managers and financial organizations to join the PRI during our formal and informal presentation. We have also shared our experience with others to illuminate the process and expectations and assist them in sharing that information with decision makers regarding signing the PRI.

We have also collaborated internally with the affinity groups at Loomis Sayles, including:

LS Green Council: a new organization over the last two years.  Its mission is to reduce the firm's environmental footprint utilizing a systematic approach that educates our workforce and brings about behavioral changes for a more sustainable and healthier future.

The Volunteer Council:  committed to engaging and creating a culture of volunteerism for all Loomis employees. The objectives of the Volunteer Council are to facilitate volunteer time off by finding one-off and continued volunteer opportunities for employees to engage in, as well as working directly with Community Investments to create Loomis sponsored, group volunteer opportunities.

The Wellness Program: Recognizing that employees perform their best when they are healthy, and that top employee performance is necessary for the firm to be successful, it is the mission of the Loomis Sayles' Wellness Committee to promote the health and wellness of employees. The committee will seek to provide opportunities, education and initiatives for employees to develop healthier lifestyles.

Women's Network: Women@Work is committed to the belief that the existence of a forum for women employees at the firm will increase and enhance connection and communication among all Loomis employees. The objectives of Women@Work are to develop a broad network of support and collaboration among its members by offering opportunities for professional development, a venue to share knowledge and ideas, and the means to promote learning from one another.

Multicultural employee resources group:   We recently announced the establishment of MOSAIC (Multicultural Organization Supporting An Inclusive Community), a multicultural employee resources group (ERG). Driven by a group of Loomis Sayles’ employees seeking to promote a culture of diversity and inclusion in the workplace, this ERG will help develop and retain a community of talented and diverse employees at all levels of leadership through professional development, networking and community involvement. We recognize that delivering excellent performance depends on strong collaboration by individuals with diverse perspectives.  Loomis Sayles strives to attract, nurture and retain a dynamic staff that is talented and bring varied backgrounds and experiences.  Our employees are the vital bridge between our workplace and the marketplace and the principal reason we are able to deliver such a high level of investment management services to our clients. We continue to seek ways to improve the performance of the firm through advancements in diversity and inclusion. 

LGBTQ+:  In 2019, Loomis Sayles also established a new LGBTQ+ ERG.
