MUNT Hypotheken (Mortgage originator part of DMFCO Asset Management) offers its borrowers the option to finance costs for energy saving measures (EBM) up to 106% LtV and to exclude these costs from the calculation of the affordability check (up to a maximum of € 9,000, € 15,000 for energy neutral homes and € 25,000 for ‘nul-op-de-meter-woningen’). In addition, MUNT works together with De Energiebespaarders in order to offer a process which makes implementing EBM as attractive and easy as possible. These facilities offered during the acceptance process have led to a significant growth in the percentage of new applications with a construction depot for EBM. 

In addition to offering these facilities, MUNT also carried out various pilots in 2019 to activate existing MUNT borrowers to implement EBM. To activate this group, pilots were conducted in cooperation with De Hypotheekshop, Huis & Hypotheek, VEH, Van Bruggen Adviesgroep and De Hypotheker. Specific target groups were approached via MUNT or the intermediary to consider the financial and environmental benefits of implementing EBM.
