We help other Dutch pension funds understand the PRI and the impact of signing these principles.

We use the insights of CDP Climate Change for developing a strategy on climate-related risks and opportunities.

We apply GRESB scores as ESG performance indicators for real estate and infrastructure investments. At participants meetings we approve fund guidelines including GRESB targets, where applicable.

          Principles for Investors in Inclusive Finance (PIIF)

A staffmember of PF Vervoer was part of a steeringcommittee at PIIF. We use the PIIF principles for selecting and monitoring managers of inclusive finance.

The Dutch 'IMVB covenant' stands for 'Internationaal Maatschappelijk Verantwoord Beleggen', which translates to 'International Socially Responsible Investing covenant'. 

With this covenant, pension funds, ngo's and the Dutch government have the objective of preventing and addressing the negative effects on society and the environment of investments by pension funds.

For identifying ESG-risks, the OECD guidelines for multinational companies and UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights are used for screening companies on ESG issues (due diligence). 

One of the staff members of Pensioenfonds Vervoer is member of the 'instruments' working group.

Description

          We request all of our external managers and potential external managers to adopt the PRI. If an existing external manager is not a signatory, we will engage with them on this subject every meeting we have with them. In 2019, we also aided another pension fund with their questions regarding the adoption of the PRI (as they were in the stages of deciding whether they would sign up or not).

This has resulted that the last external manager that did not sign the PRI signed the PRI in 2019..
