Peter Letko, LBA's Co-Founder and Senior Vice President, is a member of the Board of Directors of CCGG, as well as the Member Engagement Committee. CCGG promotes good governance practices in Canadian public companies and the improvement of the regulatory environment to best align the interests of boards and management with those of their shareholders, and to promote the efficiency and effectiveness of the Canadian capital markets.

Description

          We support the work done by the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) as regards their publication of the SASB Materiality Map and SASB industry standards, both of which have been incorporated into our research process. As well, we found SASB's Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting (FSA) Credential to be valuable training and we are working toward having each of our investment professionals earn this credential, with six already having done so.

          We hosted a luncheon conference for a group of institutional investors where one of the main topics presented was climate change, the growth of renewable energy and the transition to a lower-carbon economy.

          Peter Letko (Co-Founder and Senior Vice President of LBA) is a member of the Board of Directors of CCGG, as well as the Member Engagement Committee. CCGG promotes good governance practices in Canadian public companies and the improvement of the regulatory environment to best align the interests of boards and management with those of their shareholders, and to promote the efficiency and effectiveness of the Canadian capital markets.

LBA was the sponsor of a Montreal event held by Millani and CCGG (Canadian Coalition for Good Governance) in June 2019, “Why environmental and social issues are part of good board governance”. LBA sponsored this event to promote responsible investment and to support the CCGG’s view that oversight of E&S factors should be integrated into good board governance practices.
