SG 07. RI roles and responsibilities

07.1. Indicate the internal and/or external roles used by your organisation, and indicate for each whether they have oversight and/or implementation responsibilities for responsible investment.

07.2. For the roles for which you have RI oversight/accountability or implementation responsibilities, indicate how you execute these responsibilities.

Encourage discussion of ESG related issues in all team discussion about the investment merits of investment ideas.  

Encourage team members to update the Avenir ESG Log for portfolio companies they cover on at least a quarterly basis.

Ensure that all portfolio company updates (held at least quarterly) include a discussion of ESG related issues based on the Avenir ESG Log.

Encourage team members, where necessary, to raise ESG issues with the management and board of portfolio companies where the investment team feel that ESG issues are likely to impact upon the long term value of that company, expose the company to unnecessary risks or present opportunities for value creation at that company.

Ensure that Avenir engagement with portfolio companies are captured in the Institutional Shareholder Services Engagement Module for good record keeping and to share with clients as required. 

Record and track discussions with management teams of portfolio companies to ensure good record keeping and to share with cients as required.
