Program for upgrading energy efficiency of residential units. For the total portfolio a target has been set to make it overall more energy efficient and therewith also reduce the CO2-emmisions. Approximately 1.250 residential units are already upgraded. The energy labels of these units raised from label E/F to a C/B-label and yearly energy bills decreased with an average amount of € 450,- per unit. The upgrading also resulted in savings of 1.5 million kilograms of CO2 ( Furthermore a program for installing solar panels is rolled out. Asbestos inventory and removal program: All residential units in which potentially asbestos is used during the construction or refurbishment (all units build or refurbished before 1994) are checked following standard procedures. For those units where asbestos was found which had a potential direct health risk a removal was executed. For all units with asbestos with no direct health risk removal is programmed according the regular maintenance program.

Property managers are instructed how to handle when asbestos is found in properties and tenants are also informed about asbestos and when there is a health risk. All third parties as valuers and local managers are regularly screened and audited (ISAE 3402 II)

Tenants are pointed at energy efficiency possibilities; we have a BREEAM certificate for a property. Also we are participating in GRESB.
