RMPP aims to be an engaged and responsible long-term investor in the assets and markets in which it invests. All of the Plan’s investment managers are encouraged to take Environmental, Social and Governance factors including climate change into account with their respective investment processes.

The Trustee has given the investment managers full discretion in exercising rights, including voting rights, in relation to the Plan’s investments.

RMPP seeks to require its investment managers to discharge their responsibilities in respect of investee companies that they invest in accordance with the UK Stewardship Code drawn up the Financial Reporting Council. The Plan became a signatory to the Code in 2011. The Plan is a Tier 1 signatory of the Code.RMPP’s policy on responsible investment is available in the Statement of Investment Principles.

 

All of the Plan’s investment managers are required to declare adherence to the responsible investment policy within the Statement of Investment Principles on an annual basis.

The Trustee has external investment management providers each with a concise and transparent conflicts of interest Policy. This is implemented within their own investment process that they have been appointed to manage . The management of potential conflicts of interest would also be included in the due diligence of a potential new manager.
