STANLIB Asset Management (SLAM) is a specialist investment manager providing active and passive investment products to institutions and individuals. SLAM is a subsidiary of STANLIB Limted which is wholly owned by the Liberty Group, a predominantly insurance solutions provider.

SLAM has two offices in South Africa, the head office in Johannesburg and a smaller office in Cape Town. Most of the front and middle office staff and activities are conducted at these offices. We also have presence in Jersey and the rest-of-Africa (we are in the process of divesting); mainly conducting sales and client management activities.

In addition to SLAM, STANLIB Limited has assets in excess of R200bn (USD14 bn) under administration in STANLIB Multi-Manager, STANLIB Wealth Management, and rest-of-Africa operations. STANLIB Multi-Manager allocates investors' funds to various investment managers including SLAM, and as such keeps SLAM at arm's length by maintaining a brickwall in the sharing of other managers' information. STANLIB Wealth Management houses assets under execution and/advisory on the linked investment service provider (LISP). While SLAM does not directly manage assets in these entities, it encourages the practice of sound responsible investment principles by the underlying investment managers.
