SG 16. ESG issues for internally managed assets not reported in framework

Describe how you address ESG issues for internally managed assets for which a specific PRI asset class module has yet to be developed or for which you are not required to report because your assets are below the minimum threshold.

Describe what processes are in place and the outputs or outcomes achieved

Property

Portfolio managers evaluate ESG issues when making investment decisions, such as tenants’ governance aspects and properties’ environmental aspects. We have also some development plans how to better engage with the current tenants since they have significant impact to the properties’ environmental footprint when operating the properties. To diminish ESG risks related to these funds, the tenants are carefully analyzed before making contract with them. In addition, all new rental contracts have a clause which allows us to terminate the contract if Aluehallintavirasto has given notification to the operator i.e. to the tenant and the tenant has not made remedial actions in the given time. In addition, one of Evli's property funds invests in properties, which in general are made of wood and such have lower environmental impacts and carbon footprint than other building materials. Also, some the portfolio’s properties have geothermal heating.

Cash

Cash refers to Evli Euro Liquidity fund, which is a short-term fixed income fund that invests in Nordic euro-denominated fixed income instruments. In this fund we have same RI principles and procedures as in all Evli's funds, and we also report on the fund's ESG issues with a public ESG report, which can be found from the fund's website.
