Asset managers conduct engagement initiatives with companies that are invested in Ircantec portfolios. 

Ircantec is also invested in a SICAV, Phitrust, a specialist investor for engaging companies.

Upon our engagement priorities, we have internally selected sub-priorities to act on for the coming years. They have either a geography focus, or a specific ESG impact we want to follow and engage.

These sub-priorities have been defined by the board of trustees in collaboration with the fiduciary manager.

Regarding collaborative engagements, they are firstly chosen according Ircantec priorities and sub-priorities. Companies that we engage are then selected depending on exposure, geography, consultation with trustees, etc.

Objectives are particularly well-defined and assessed when Ircantec engages within a PRI-led collaboration initiative (corporate tax group for instance). We are accompanied to do so and benefit from the experience of the PRI and peers. 

Annual engagement reports review our engagement initiatives carried out during the year.

Monitoring is particularly well-defined and assessed when Ircantec engages within a PRI-led collaboration initiative (corporate tax group for instance). We are accompanied to do so and benefit from the experience of the PRI and peers.

In addition, the recent disclosed engagement policy will allow a better monitoring to track engagement initiatives, especially from our service provider.

Finally, the annual engagement report  review our engagement initiatives along the year.

The pension scheme hasn't an escalation strategy taken after the initial dialogue has been unsuccessful.

But in the meantime, the outcomes from engagement initiatives feed the investment strategy and decisions.
