INF 01. Description of approach to RI

01.1. Provide a brief overview of your organisation’s approach to responsible investment in infrastructure where you have equity stakes.

BCI's direct infrastructure program considers each investment's ESG factors as part of both the initial investment due diligence process and ongoing ESG monitoring.   We use external consultants for select aspects of the initial ESG due diligence process, with the majority of the analysis being done in house. We view ESG issues as having a impact on long term investment returns, and thus they take a prominent role in our investment analysis and monitoring.

INF 02. Responsible investment policy for infrastructure

02.1. Indicate if your organisation has a responsible investment policy for infrastructure.

02.2. Provide a URL if your policy is publicly available.

02.3. Additional information. [Optional]

The responsible investing policy (link above) is corporation-wide. This is not a link to our Infrastructure policy specifically, as this is not a public document.

BCI excludes companies involved in the manufacturing of landmines and/or cluster munitions from its investment universe. This exclusion is based on international treaties signed and ratified by the Canadian federal government. Our investment managers are required to comply with this exclusion.
