As previously mentioned, we are formalizing a RI procedure based on ESG integration approach. Responsibilities are a key part of this procedure:

- Fundamental analysts will conduct ESG research and assess its impact in terms of the target weight recommendation.

- Investment decisions rely in PMs who are responsible of taking into account any information deemed material for their portfolios.

- CIO has an oversight responsibility in the development of all investment committees.

- Investor Relations staff have a responsability in assessing the clients’ need and interest in RI products, and in understanding industry’s best practices related to RI and ESG to enhance the company’s value proposition. At the moment one investor relations analyst is partially dedicated to RI strategy development and implementation.

LVAM has a remuneration policy and one of its key features is that investment staff is rewarded based on objective risk and performance metrics (PMs) and quality of recommendations and models (analysts). Our ESG integration methodology should indirectly have an effect on these metrics, and thereby in rewards and personal development processes. LVAM offers support to their staff members who want to pursue continuing education on topics related to the company’s strategy.

A fundamental step of our RI development plan is training and dissemination of RI topics, intended to clarify misconceptions, align positions, and set a single, institutional perspective on the matter. Becoming PRI signatories was a primary action in this line, as it allows access to workshops and courses.
