Genstar’s responsible investment program was initially rolled-out with our formal Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) policy in 2015. Our program has traditionally focused on identifying ESG risks and opportunities in the diligence process. ESG issues that are particularly relevant across our portfolio include data privacy and security, ethics and compliance, diversity and equal employment opportunity, and anti-bribery and corruption. Genstar’s ESG program and policy is monitored by our ESG Committee, whose members include Ryan Clark, President & Managing Director, Tony Salewski, Managing Director, and Melissa Dickerson, Managing Director, Operations. Melissa also serves as Genstar’s ESG Officer, monitoring the day-to-day ESG program and leading the firm’s ESG initiatives.
Genstar's ESG Committee meets on an annual basis to review the ESG and responsible investment policies in place. In addition, the ESG Committee reviews the effectiveness of initial due diligence and ongoing portfolio company monitoring with the goal of improving these functions as well as updates in the responsible investment community and among peers.
