01.4. Provide a brief overview of your organization’s approach to engagement

Our engagement strategy is based on 3 pillars. First of all, we as Bankhaus Schelhammer & Schattera get into dialogue with those companies, that violated against labour rights according to our research partner oekom research. Second, we cooperate through CRIC with asset managers in Austria, Germany and Switzerland to jointly engage in companies, that had violations against our exclusion criteria in the past. The third pillar is our membership in UNPRI - since we are not a big player in the international financial market, we like to make use of our membership to jointly engage in big entreprises and set investor standards that go inline with the ethical standards of our own bank.

In the case of a positive engagement dialog - the company has set appropriate activities to prevent similar violations in the future - our Ethical Advisory Board has the power to decide if the company can be reconsiderd in our investment universe.
