The Government Institutions Pension Fund "GIPF" is a defined benefit fund that is governed by the Pension Funds Act, Act 24 of 1956. It's a private pension fund of which the largest stakeholder is the Government of the Republic of Namibia (Public Service).

GIPF has made a strategic investment in a local banking institution called Capricorn Investment Holdings trading as Bank Windhoek. This exposure of around 2.7% of the total assets of the fund are managed internally. The investment is listed on the local bourse, the Namibian Stock Exchange.
