IFD 07. Tracking microfinance investees portfolio

Possible action:

Develop and extend the range of financial services available to low-income populations. Extensions could include savings, loans, insurance, payment services, remittance facilities and pension plans.

07.1. Indicate if you track the percentage of your microfinance investees' portfolio that is in microenterprise loans.

07.2. Indicate if you track the percentage of your microfinance investees’ portfolio that is in loans for immediate household needs (i.e. consumer loans).

We also track our investees' portoflio in SME loans: 25% of our investees' portfolio.

08.1. In your microfinance portfolio, indicate if you support the provision of financial services beyond credit, compulsory savings and/or compulsory insurance.

Whenever legally possible, we support the transformation of financial institutions into regulated entities – enabling them to offer a wide range of financial services (savings, insurance, payment services).

We support organisations like Leapfrog Financial Inclusion, a fund that invests in insurance companies that actively reach out to low income people who currently do not have access to insurance products.

We support organisations that offer financial services that ease up the life of the end clients, such as Microcred Senegal that offers money transfer service, improving the safety and efficiency of the clients' financial transactions.

The offering of non-financial services is part of our tool to assess new and existing investments. As an example, we support Accesso Crediticio Peru who regularly provides entrepreneurial development trainings to its clients.
