Responsible Investment strategy and policies

SWEN CP’s board members are responsible for defining and monitoring SWEN CP’s responsible investment strategy and policies. SWEN CP's board members are responsible for defining and monitoring SWEN CP's responsible investment strategy and policies. Responsible investment objectives and goals are set, reviewed and monitored during Executive committees at least twice a year.

Implementation SWEN CP’s RI strategy and policies

First and foremost, portfolio managers and investment analysts are directly concerned by them. They are the main actors in implementing RI guidelines into the whole investment process. They also take an important part in presenting and promoting such policies to SWEN CP’s General Partners. Secondly, the Responsible Investment staff is committed to raise awareness on ESG issues within the company and to monitor the implementation of the RI policies. They also assess the ESG practices and performances of General Partners during the selection, appointment and monitoring phases (through ESG Due Diligence questionnaires and through the annual ESG questionnaire sent out to management companies themselves as well as their underlying assets).

Reporting

The dedicated Responsible Investment staff is responsible for gathering all the ESG data collected in order to prepare and deliver annual ESG reporting to SWEN CP’s clients.

07.1a CC. For the board level roles or for which you have climate-related issues oversight/accountability or implementation responsibilities, indicate how you execute these responsibilities.

SWEN CP's Executive Committee has adopted during the 2017 year a climate strategy. Since its approval, SWEN CP rigorously analyzed all the investment opportunities or decisions with climate elements. Those have been integrated into the due diligence process and the information gathered is incorporated into the investment memorandum. Moreover, SWEN Capital Partners is supported in the implementation of its Climate Strategy by an independent climate expert. The latter is solicited on an ad-hoc basis, depending on the materiality level of climate-related risks and opportunities of any given investment opportunity, to provide SWEN CP with specific highlights. 

SWEN CP also takes account climate-related issues in its annual ESG questionnaire.

All the investment directors  pay specific attention to climate-related issues in all brought investment opportunities and during the life duration of their portfolios. All controversial information linked to climate change are systematically identified, transmitted to the concerned member of the investment team who managed directly with the GPs in charge.
