Engagement is a crucial part of Raiffeisen Capital Management’s sustainability strategy and comprises two approaches: (1) proactive engagement and (2) reactive engagement.
Proactive engagement is seen as a constructive dialogue with companies in order to identify ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) related risks. Raiffeisen Capital Management aims to avoid controversies of those companies and aims to strengthen the companies’ ESG management.
Reactive engagement is conducted when controversies have already been revealed. Still it is a constructive dialogue, but focuses on specific measures to prevent a repetition of similar controversies in the future. Structural enhancements are in the center of Raiffeisen Capital Management’s engagement efforts.
