04.2. Provide a description of your organisation's approach to incorporating ESG issues in property investment selection.

In analyzing the risks and opportunities inherent in any investment, the Real Estate group looks to identity, monitor and mitigate ESG factors that are, or could become material to long-term financial performance.

Consideration of ESG risks is part of the due diligence process with respect to potential direct real estate investments. The integration of ESG factors is well established in the Real Estate group strategy: these risks are addressed in each investment recommendation submitted to the Investment Committee of the Board, the President and Chief Executive Officer or other approving officers. The monitoring of ESG risks also is part of an ongoing dialogue with the partners, the property managers, and boards of directors and senior management of the companies in which the Real Estate Group invests.The Responsible Investment Group assists in the identification and assessment of ESG risks.

For direct real estate investments, the Real Estate group will ensure that ESG factors affecting a business entity or an asset have been identified as part of the due diligence process.

The Responsible Investment Group assists in the identification and assessment of ESG risks.

The Legal Affairs and Risk Management groups will also be involved in the assessment of ESG risks related to a proposed investment within their spheres of expertise.
