          Monitoring is conducted across asset classes at general meetings and when conducting regular conversations with managers. In addition, managers are required to provide reporting on their proxy voting on a regular basis. Going forward, managers will also be getting formal feedback on a more structured and consistent basis.

          Managers generally have a very robust process for voting proxies and so the majority of the
proxies not voted are for legitimate reasons for example 
(1) in certain markets split voting is not allowed where there are several managers with the same holding in a single custodian omnibus, or

(3) where securities are out on loan.
